The Japan Alps Hiking Map is a sophisticated mapping application designed for hiking and outdoor navigation. Fuji, the Kamakura Alps, and Karasawa. Ongoing development aims to expand the collection of these informative resources.

 <li>Offline Mapping: The application allows users to download topographical maps of Japan from the Geospatial Information Authority. Additionally, it displays "Footprints," which represent GPS logs shared by other hikers, offering insight into actual trails taken.</li>
 
 <li>Route and Map Downloads: Users can download not only pre-set area maps but also recommended routes. The app supports GPX file imports, facilitating transfers from various outdoor social networks such as Yamareco.com.</li>
 
 <li>GPS Logging: During hikes, the app records location history as a GPS log. The GPS function operates efficiently in Airplane Mode or without cellular service, provided there is an unobstructed view of the sky.</li>
 
 <li>Hiking Registration: Users have the option to submit their hike plans to Compass, a hiking registration service that shares essential information with rescue services in Japan. Details about this service can be found on the Compass homepage.</li>
 
 <li>Off-Route Alerts: The app features a vocal alert system that notifies users when they venture too far off their planned route. Additionally, it periodically announces the current time and altitude through voice prompts.</li>

 <li>Continuous use of GPS in the background may significantly reduce battery life.</li>
 <li>It is advisable to carry a paper map and compass, along with a spare battery and charging cable while hiking.</li>
 <li>A ticket is required to download maps for offline access; however, other functions like GPS logging are available without a ticket.</li>
 <li>The "Footprints" feature showcases other hikers' trails but does not guarantee accuracy, as it may include routes that are no longer accessible or seasonal closures.</li>

 <li>The place name data will download after installation, which may take approximately ten minutes to complete; waiting for this process will ensure all place names are visible on your map.</li>
